Swanson Lake Ranch

Swanson Lake Ranch is a 764 acre full-scale agricultural farm and ranch, located approximately one mile southwest of Swanson Lake in Southwestern Nebraska.  Our land has 436 acres of wetlands, enrolled in the federally funded, Wetlands Reserve Program (WRP), 70 acres of alfalfa, wheat and corn farming, 26 acres of currently-enrolled Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) crops, and 232 acres of native grasslands, approximately 185 acres of which are in three distinct grazing zones for cattle operations. 

Swanson Lake Ranch Hunting Club

The Swanson Lake Ranch hunting club is a private club offering hunting, fishing and other outdoor recreation activities to its members and their guests.  Membership is extremely limited and features access to approximately 800 privately-owned acres of forested river bottom and wetlands and availability of on-site accommodations with the newly opened Swanson Lake Ranch Lodge.

HUNTING 2012/2013

As we look forward to the 2012-2013 hunting season, we again wonder whether it can get any better than this past year.  In all categories - turkey, upland, waterfowl and deer - the habitat improvements appear to have paid dividends, as we saw increased numbers across the board.  Among the highlights this past year were a waterfowl hunt SLR donated to a Ducks Unlimited Chapter and three very nice harvested bucks. Congratulations and many thanks to our members and guests for making 2011-2012 a terrific hunt.  Spring turkey is again underway and for some video of how good the turkey hunting at SLR can be, CHECK OUT Outback Outdoor's Webisode #4 (parts 1 and 2) as Adam and Trevon bow hunt gobblers.  Nice work, boys!

Swanson Lake Ranch Lodge

We are pleased to announce the opening of the Swanson Lake Ranch Lodge.  Our members and their guests can enjoy spectacular views of the property and a comfortable stay while hunting and fishing at Swanson Lake Ranch.  The lodge features a large deck overlooking Horseshoe Pond, a screened porch for outdoor dining, and other great amenities. Swanson Lake Ranch has twelve private ponds, totaling more than 20 acres of prime waterfowl habitat.  In the summertime we enjoy canoeing and fishing for bluegill, bass, & crappie.

Our ranch also borders Swanson Reservoir Recreation Area which has 4000 acres of public hunting ground and 4,794 acres of crystal-clear water, known for trophy-sized northern pike, and numerous wiper, walleye, crappie and black bass.
