Swanson Lake Ranch Hunting Club

The Swanson Lake Ranch hunting club is now offering a limited number of memberships for the 2009-2010 hunting and fishing season.  Owners Mike Dugas and Adam Wells look forward to talking with you about our resources, habitat and land management plans, as well as future ranch infrastructure and recreation plans.  In the meantime, the property is blessed with an abundance of wildlife for hunting and fishing TODAY.  Contact us for more about the SLR hunting club.

HUNTING 2009/2010...Spring Turkey is Here

It seems like only weeks ago Swanson Lake was frozen over and we were stoking large fires in the evenings in anticipation of frigid mornings in the duck blind and deer stands.  Well, the ice and snow have thawed and spring turkey season has arrived.  Archery spring turkey kicked off March 25th and shotgun spring turkey starts April 18th.  See our Calendar or the Nebraska Game & Parks Commission website at http://www.ngpc.state.ne.us/ for more details.

Swanson Lake Ranch has twelve private ponds, totaling more than 20 acres of prime waterfowl habitat.  In the summertime we enjoy canoeing and fishing for bluegill, bass, & crappie.

Our ranch also borders Swanson Reservoir Recreation Area which has 4000 acres of public hunting ground and 4,794 acres of crystal-clear water, known for trophy-sized northern pike, and numerous wiper, walleye, crappie and black bass.
